Description

Dynamite Harvest’s Farm to Family Produce Plan is akin to a ‘market-style’ CSA.¹ If you buy our plan you get access to our produce before anyone else. If you buy the plan at full price, you get your produce at a 20% discount, too, which in 2024 means $100 more in produce ($600 worth of produce for $500 paid)!

If you join our Food Security Program, you receive absolute priority, even before members of our FFPP. Plus, you receive a discount of 25% off of your produce. All the ‘thank you’ gifts described below for your 2024 purchase are delivered in the fall of 2023!

In this model, the pre-payment serves as a credit towards the purchase of our produce.  Our members will be told in advance what produce is available, and they will be able to decide precisely what they want, and we will try to accommodate their schedule for pick-ups and deliveries.

If you so desire, we can simply pack your box and bag with produce chosen at our discretion, and you can pick it up.

In addition to the FFPP, Dynamite Harvest offers a ‘food security’ program Participants in this program are first in line.  They get notified about our available produce first and they have the opportunity to purchase it first (or have it deducted from their FFPP, if they have also purchased that).  You can learn more about this program, here.

Note:  These are annual plans.  They expire as of Dec. 31st of the year following.  (These early bird plans are in effect for Jan 1st, 2024 to Dec 31st, 2024. Credits do not carry over to the following year.)

Please note, if you pay by credit card, a processing fee of 3.5% (max $20) will be applied.

The above plans are Dynamite Harvest’s versions of a CSA.

What is a CSA?  According to this site:

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a production and marketing model whereby consumers buy shares of a farm’s harvest in advance. Consumers become CSA members by paying an agreed amount at the beginning of the growing season, either in one lump sum or in installments. The annual cost, generally ranging from $400-$700, depends on the length of the harvest season and the variety and quantity of products provided. This upfront payment helps buy the seed and other inputs needed for the season and provides the farmer an immediate income to begin the season. By paying at the beginning of the season, CSA members share in the risk of production and relieve the farmer of much of the time needed for marketing. This allows the farmer to concentrate on good land stewardship and growing high quality food.

For a comparison with how another Wisconsin farm runs their CSA program, go here.

We prefer the ‘market-based’ style of our Farm to Family plans because that way people get exactly what they want, and not a lot of stuff they don’t want.
