This photo was taken a few weeks ago. Last year we decided to transplant a few strawberry plants into our greenhouse to see if we could get a jump on the strawberry season. Normally, in this area of Wisconsin, strawberries will ripen in mid-June, but we wanted to see if we could get them in early June or late May.
Fun Facts:
Strawberries are a part of the rose family.
Strawberries have more vitamin C in them than oranges.
The leaves of the strawberry plant are edible and have been used for medicinal purposes.
While eating fresh out of hand is undoubtedly one of the best uses, what other ways do you like to use this delightful berry?
