Greetings!
Those who have been following events at Dynamite Harvest will know that the 2024 season has been extremely challenging. The June rains were never-ending and ruined almost the entirety of our first planting, setting us back decisively. We had hoped to be able to start donating produce to crisis pregnancy centers in central Wisconsin more than a month ago. Only now, in August, do we have enough produce to donate.
So, it is immensely gratifying that we were able to finally distribute produce to vulnerable women in our region.
Last year we served three centers but one had to drop out this year. The two remaining centers received 30 bags that were valued at about $672, in total.
The bags were maybe a little ‘lighter’ than we would have wanted but there were some high end items in there that we hope they appreciate. 🙂 We provided a recipe for using the garlic scapes that you can see in the pic below.

Because of the way this season is going, there is still plenty of time to donate to the Athanatos Foundation (the org that I am the founder of; it is a tax exempt 501c3) which is coordinating these produce distributions for this season. Please don’t donate anything for next season at this point. I will let you know the status of the program in November after we can fully assess the 2024 season. Here is the donation link.
